Beth Sholom presents an Evening with Pizmon
Join us for a concert of a cappella music with our guests, Pizmon, the Jewish a cappella group of Columbia/Barnard and Jewish Theological Seminary and the oldest and one of the best-known Jewish college groups in the country.
Since its inception in 1987 as the first collegiate Jewish a cappella group, Pizmon has traveled to hundreds of communities within the United States and around the world to share their love of Jewish music and culture. Their repertoire consists primarily of liturgical pieces, Israeli rock and pop, Yiddish and Ladino music, and children’s songs.
As a pluralistic Jewish group, they have members originating from nearly every Jewish background. Through their identity as Jews and our love of music, they strive to be role models for Jewish youth and enhance the religious experiences of Jewish communities of all denominations.
